Master plan for a 5.2 acre site with existing worship and classroom
buildings. The new owners requested site improvements to enhance environmental,
spiritual, functional and aesthetic aspects. The master plan will
be implemented over time and includes features such site-related features
as:
- A new entry area with portico, arbor, landscaping, water feature
and benches, designed to soften the outdoor-indoor transition
- Addition of vined trellises flanking windows to reduce unwanted solar
gain and glare and soften the starkness of the building facade
- Large pergola just outside of the fellowship hall for use as a gathering
space and transition to the outdoor gathering area
- Landscape buffer to strengthen sense of enclosure of the outdoor
gathering area
- Restoration of large treed areas for wildlife habitat and educational
nature trails
- Development of a sunny meadow area as a wildflower field / butterfly
garden
- Labyrinth
- Playground enhancements for aesthetics and functionality
- Vegetative reinforcement of site edges
- Memorial garden
